Welcome to our website about Charlton Gateway, a proposed development to regenerate the Stone Foundries site.
Built around a highly-efficient, low-impact data centre, our proposals would create high-quality skilled jobs and provide an economic catalyst for Charlton Riverside.
Our draft plans also include:
- Significant landscaping and infrastructure improvements from the rear of Derrick and Atlas Gardens to the eastern edge of the site near New Lydenburg Street
- A quieter and cleaner site for our site neighbours and the wider area, including a reduction in vehicle movements compared with existing industrial occupiers
- Wider economic benefits such as new jobs and training opportunities
GLi is looking at opportunities to create a new, low carbon, district heat network for the surrounding area, harnessing heat output from the data centre.
Consultation for ‘Charlton Gateway’ is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated.
We held consultation on our proposals from Friday 28 November until Sunday 21 December 2025.
The formal consultation period on this initial planning application has closed, but we are keen to hear more views and ideas from local people. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us via:

Wider plans for Charlton Riverside
In late 2024 and early 2025, we held a public consultation on proposals for a flexible industrial unit on Plot A of Charlton Riverside (also known as the VIP Trading Estate), off Anchor and Hope Lane. This land is also owned by GLi.
Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Planning Board resolved to grant approval for these proposals in July 2025.
